We are off of exit 8 I81 in TN if you have any issues. Anywhere Knoxville on in TN, we’d be happy to lend a hand. Let me know and I will PM phone and email.

LOL, would it surprise you to learn that, many years ago, I was what was called “first leader” in our local Girl Guides troop (Canadian equivalent of Girl Scouts)?

Lifetime motto: Be Prepared.

That comment above was intended for Hitten. obviously. I’m typing on my phone and missed my cue.

Would not surprise me at all. Girl scouts, military brat, camping and army girl. It kinda gets in your blood. One of my mottos also.

It does occasionally get in the way when you want to be on the spur or spontaneous.

Always carry a knife, lighter and food & water.

Boy Scout Adult Leader for about 15 years, father of three Eagle Scouts. Led by example. To this day, I still carry the “Ten Essentials” plus food, water, a set of Ham radios, and a Swiss Army Knife wherever we go. “Be Prepared” is not just a motto, it’s a way of life.

Well, that's why I'd like an improved GPS, to facilitate more spontaneity. I'd like to be spontaneous, not reckless. I can't deviate from my solo plan unless I have the means to figure out where I'm going next.

It doesn't look like it will happen in the short term, though. LB_3 has met with an encryption roadblock on the Garmin. I've no doubt that others have surmounted it, because otherwise there'd be little motivation for the public to collaborate on making and sharing so many POI files. But that's a learning curve of such size that we ain't got time for it right now.
