Best Folding Chairs
With our previous Airstream trailers, we carried comfortable outdoor chairs in our tow vehicle. In moving to a Class B - What chairs do folks use use with the more limited storage space in Class B’s? We are going to be in an Atlas. Thanks!

We use these REI compact camp chairs, which are very light, short, and have their own built in sling (no bag). Just checked and they aren’t available now. Don’t know if that’s temporary or permanent.

Kermit chairs. They even fit on a motorcycle.

We have a pair of Strongback chairs. They have really good back support, are comfortable, and easy to get in and out of. They collapse to about a 4" diameter for storage in their bags.

A different model of REI chair from the one listed above. I call them "butt bucket" chairs and they are not very comfortable, but they are cheap, and they store by hanging off our under-slung cabinetry shelves.
I typically don't spend much time sitting around, so I don't care too much about the quality of my chair.

I highly recommend Strongback for anyone who has lower back pain. I find sitting in most folding chairs a pain bu the Strongback I am good for several hours. A bit on the large size but I make space for these. We bought 2 more for home.

Like Interblog, we use REI Macro Chairs and store them in the top of the TV. Very light and easy to carry when hiking etc. - Brad

I have had a pair of "Pico Chairs" for years. They are super sturdy, comfortable, and fold very small. They come with a carrying bag that hangs on the back and provides pockets for when the chair is unfolded. About $100 ech.

We have some REI chairs. Compact, light, and they do not encourage sitting for any length of time.
btw, you can buy the equivalents of the REI chairs on Amazon and eBay for half the price.

Talking about the best camp chair is like asking what the best tow vehicle is, YMMV. We are on are our 3rd brand of camp chair. The first two put pressure on the back of my thighs if I sat long enough in them which made them uncomfortable for me.
We are now using GCI's PICO chairs and my wife and I are both happy with them. They come with a very unique multi-purpose storage bag. They are about the size of a briefcase when in their storage bag.

I really liked the Pico for it's small footprint when collapsed. But for comfort I prefer my Strongback chairs. The take more space but I think it's worth it.

We had a couple different versions of the lightweight shock cord camping chairs. From the Helinox (which felt to us like sitting in a canvas bucket with a lot of pressure on the back of our legs) to the Alite Mayfly (very light but very very low to the ground) and the Alite Calpine (a strange 3 legged design but the least bucket feel to us of the shock cord style). However I believe Alite is out of business now. The other thing about the ultralight chairs is that they’re so light they blow over and even blow away. Can’t beat the shock cord style for ease of storage and weight, but didn’t cut it for us for comfort.
We also have a Strongback Chair which is hands down the best, most comfortable camp chair. Everyone should try one sometime. It’s very surprising how comfortable they are. It’s the heavy zig zag folding style, and is big heavy and bulky to store especially for a Class B, but still is extremely comfortable and supportive, especially if you have a bad back and need lumbar support. But it’s definitely large to travel with.
We finally settled on the Kermit like others here have mentioned. It’s great and we really love them. They are sort of a directors chair sling style, (without feeling at all like sitting in a bucket like the ultralights). It’s a canvas sling and high quality wood frame that cleverly comes apart to pack in a very small package for storage and travel. Originally developed for motorcycle travel. Once assembled on a trip, (which is a pleasure due to the clever design,) they just fold flat like a traditional lawn chair to stow away or bring with you. You can get add on leg attachments to make it a bit taller, so in one chair we have both beach height and eating height. While lightweight, they are more substantial and don’t blow over. They have a classic wood (oak, and now I think walnut as an option) and canvas style, are American made, and are a class act.
Hope this helps,
Rich

Here’s a head to head Pico vs Kermit. Both great chairs. Again, the Kermit can be the same height with the leg extensions.

Two of these were a recent acquisition for the rig and so-far-so-good[emoji106]
Very sturdy, very comfortable and they fold up nice and flat, plus they also came with nice storage/carrying handle bag. A side bonus is that the blue & silver fabric kinda coordinates with our sliver AIGT.

Nemo: can try them at REI. Love the feel and design. But, can’t get past the price.

Yeti TRAILHEAD CAMP CHAIR. Big, heavy, and expensive but the most comfortable chair made.
