Timber Ridge Folding Chair (Amazon)
Never thought that a folding chair could be of such good quality & comfort.

- Very sturdy, heavy gauge tubular construction.
- Solid Foot Pads
- Seating fabric has a strong/durable feel and wipes off drips & splatters well.
- Arms have decent flat surface, wide enough so that your arms are comfy.
- Not the lightest, 9 1/2 lbs., but if not carrying far no issue.
- Comes with a decent quality zippered carrying bag.
- Folds flat and they nest decently and fit well behind the rear AIGT Ext. bench.
- I'm 6' ~ 215'ish and I fit like a glove in these chairs.
- I'd buy these again in a heartbeat, but honestly don't think I'll ever need to.
- Also comes in a green color scheme.
- Not cheap ($ 90), but your post said "Best Folding Chair" and IMO it is.

I love this chair. The last folding chair I'll buy.
Comes through DXL, the big and tall store, so it's a bit bigger than average, but super strong and taller so getting out is not a struggle.

Oops, it did not occur to me that I had already contributed to this thread about 18 months ago...my careless oversight, sorry.

Oh well, at least my comments/opinions were consistent!

I almost jumped in about Kermit chairs, then saw they were already well represented in the thread, and that it wasn't a young thread, so, I'd left well enough alone, BUT you're absolutely right, if you still like your chair, you're continuing to pass the word around about it!

I don’t own this chair. But, I’ve sat in them at REI. I’m in love! My concern is the price and the potential that someone equally loves my chair so much that it walks off…

I reviewed this thread because we are building an off-grid utility trailer, and after 8 years of limited-cargo travel and sitting in tiny backpacking-sized butt-bucket chairs, I was ready to order some reasonably-priced full-sized chairs.

Good grief, the REI chair that some posters recommended here is currently on sale for thirty bucks. At that price, it's not worth additional research - I ordered two of them. I'm sure there are better chairs out there, but I made a cost-benefit call on this one.

I can’t say these are the most comfortable nor the most uncomfortable chairs out there, but they fold up to a very compact package and don’t take much time to fold and unfold. Probably a 12” x 4” type bag. If you have any meat on your taters though, it’s a bit of a tight squeeze. My fiancé’ doesn’t find them especially comfy and he’s a bit over 200 lbs. Ok…maybe a bit more over 200 lbs. Kind of nice to have in a pinch or if you really need a chair when you out and about though.

We bought a Kuma double buddy loveseat and take two other zero gravity chairs when camping. Unfair advantage in putting them in the trailer though. We have put both in the back of the Interstate, but it gets a little crowded with the other items needed to take with.

Ok. I know space is a premium, and I'm not sure (yet) where we're going to store them, but we LOVE these:

That was a great laugh, thanks.

Sitting down with taters squished accordingly, I'm about 15 inches across the beam of said taters (you inspired me to actually measure it). I am not exactly skinny, but throughout my life, I've been repeatedly told that I belong in the "scrawny white woman butt" hall of fame. When God was passing out booty, I was back getting a second helping of brains.

Prior to noting the REI sale, I shopped for chairs in brick-and-mortars and I was taken aback by how wide they are. I could fit two of my butt into some of them. Side by side.

I bought a set of two of these from Amazon in April and haven't had the opportunity to use them yet, but they fold down into a very small package which, in the van, is more important than being amazingly comfy. They were $40 each. They're completely gone from Amazon now. No idea why.

We use those chairs , although they are sold under a different brand name. We added little folding ottomans this year, which makes them perfect. They are a bit large when folded, so we put them on top of the Airstream bed when towing.

If you like rockers or gliders, this is such an awesome chair. Probably not great if you weigh a lot, but I love mine so much. They're super expensive so it pays to look for a sale. I love that it can recline so you can look at the sky. Not the best for eating food in, but fantastic if you want to just relax...

We've had 3 of that general design - that's what I mean when I say "butt bucket" style.

One of our original REI butt bucket chairs ripped through. The construction was not sufficiently durable, and my husband is only 170 pounds.

Earlier this year, I replaced the ripped chair with a West Marine butt bucket, because their construction was obviously more robust (below). But they sold out of those (unavailable as of July 2022), so I only have the one.

Then we got the trailer, and I decided to get a few full-sized chairs, that are actually tall enough to use at a camp table, given that my picnic table was apparently stolen.

r than most, and I now see about $50 more than when we got them, the ALPS Mountaineering Rocking Chair is a great choice. Very comfortable, very sturdy and collapses relatively well.[

I still want nemo stargazer chairs. But, last week I saw a new chair, Trippy. I bought two and they are surprisingly comfortable. I got them to take fishing when I’m putting on my wading shoes.
