Batteries

We have a 2013 Airstream Interstate Extended, with approximately 55,000 miles, which we purchased new.

We plug it in whenever we're at an rv park, and we've done zero boondocking. While it's in storage, we always turn the red disconnect knob.

Everything seems to be fine, but how long do the house batteries generally last? Should I look into replacing them?

Thanks in advance.

Depends!

First, which inverter do you have? If you have the Magnum MMS-1012, then you are safe to leave the unit plugged in as much as you want as the charger section os 'smart' and will properly charge your batteries without over charging them.

Next, given that your batteries are approaching 5 years and their previous charging history is unknown, I would have them tested professionally to determine their charge retention capacity.

My guess would be that they are in need of replacement, as many owners are not familiar with the charge requirements of their Lifeline AGM batteries and are often left in a depleted state for extended periods of time......a sure way to sulfate the batteries and decrease their useful charge retention capacity.
