I'm about to take delivery on a 2021 Atlas and am seeking advice on how to add Purogene fresh water treatment to the fresh water tank.
In my 2016 Interstate I just poured it into the inlet. On the Atlas, however, the tank fills from the city water connection by opening an electrically controlled valve.
So, are there any Atlas owners or others who could give me some ideas?
Thanks.
The description of the fill connection is at 4:45 here:
I just pour into the open end of my water hose, then connect to the Hose bib(spigot) and flush the sanitizer along with fresh water into the holding tank.
mperry99, may I ask you what proportion Purogene/water you use. We use 1 cup per gallon of water for the purpose of mouthwash rinse. I would imagine that you are using a lesser proportion than this. Thanks.

Sanitizing the tanks before use is recommended if I recall. I believe you have to activate it with citric acid and the ratio is different than 1oz per 30 gallon ratio for maintaining freshness. Something like 1/3 oz per gallon.
Thanks. I will verify with the RV Water Filter Store who work with it a lot.

I have used it per recommended dosage, adding it when the tank is about 1/4 full. I didn't have a 'stale water' problem before adding it, so was not really expecting an improvement but figured it couldn't hurt. I have checked the pump inlet filter twice. Had some (manufacturing leftover?) junk in it the first time (at ~2 yrs and 30,000 miles) and nothing the last check (8 yrs and 98,000 miles).
I always use the Camco filter on the end of the hose when adding water, changing to a new filter every few years. Guessing that I probably use a filter for ~200 gallons then switch to a new one.
