Thank you...I will check it out. Being a newbie with this I went by the attached response from a Colonial and what the first two smaller Cummins dealers I spoke with.

The generator would have to be looked at and if it needs service it would have to be removed and sent to a cummins authorized dealer. . If you don’t make any head way with the batteries I would advise bringing it in to be looked at.
Hope all is well with you and have a great day.

Thank You,

Well, it still makes no sense, as our generators don’t generally need to be removed and sent off to be serviced.

I would read your warranty information thoroughly, and perhaps call Jackson Center and the service department there to see what they have to say, should you not find a simple solution to your leak.

Removing it and sending it off seems unwieldy to the point of maybe being a deterrent to having it serviced under warranty.

If that is some agreement between Airstream and Cummins, it should be reduced to writing somewhere in your warranty information.

Plus, these are big and heavy and shipping them back and forth seems to carry its own risk of damage.

Sorry I forget, was Patrick Botticelli your sales person? I would call him right now and light a fire under him, under Colonial, and under Airstream.

Did I read someplace that you have a 2020 AI on order?

Your baptism by fire on this new model has gone on long enough IMO.

Time to get the band playing your tune!

Good luck,

Peter

I personally would not worry about the generator too much. It has a low oil sensor which will shut to generator down in a low oil scenario. It happens several times to mine after several minutes running I added a little and it worked fine. This was after it was serviced at Jackson center.

I would have some concern about the generator having been run low on oil. One option would be to refill and then next time it's do for an oil change, take a sample of the used oil and send it in for an oil analysis to check for any excess metals that would indicate bearing damage. I've used Blackstone for oil analysis before with good results.
