Ah, sorry John. I need to read better, slower, etc....
So a bit like the Winnebago Travato 59K then?

Hi
Not quite sure I "get" the double doors opening into the toilet. Maybe it will make more sense in a few days ....

I like the layout, but I'll stick with Airstream, though, for the purpose of staying with my friends of 20 years in my Airstream unit. In true Texas fashion, I'm "fixin" to go to a rally shortly with all my friends who are back from their summer travels. We have just about the best unit in the Airstream club and I'm next to oldest in the unit.
BTW, I'm signed up for Alumapalooza next June. The plant expansion has cut into the space available and I don't want to miss this one. I'm looking to visit the Air Force Museum in Dayton on more time to see their newest building. The Memphis Belle will be back on display; I saw it several years ago in the early stages of restoration.

Total missed opportunity in my opinion, and I am glad I put the equivalent amount (to the anticipated Atlas price) into a full rebuild of a 20ft Argosy to get exactly what we wanted (with full width twins as well as a appropriate width aisle), with out the need for slide outs and other junk.
If Airstream want to get inspiration for what can be achieved they need to look to Hymer to see what they are doing on a Mercedes chassis.

Martin, that is one nice looking coach! And quite spacious compared to AI to boot!
Are these easy to find?

They didn't come like that from the factory. It is a shame because 1974-76 Airstream experimented with the first Argosy MH (20/24/26ft), then 1977-78 made some changes (20/24/28ft), but when they launched the Airstream product in 1979 they only kept the 24/28ft - I assume because of lack of demand for the 20fts. Which means the originals are quite rare now, although the 1977-78 ones are slightly more common and mainly rear bath like our second MH.
For the cost of an Atlas, you can get a 20ft Argosy, do a full body off restoration, and what is equivalent to a restomod (modern/upgraded version of steering, suspensions, brakes and drive train - they are all from Chevy 1 ton trucks) including custom interior and new paint (or polish if you want).

What I like about that Argosy is the same thing that I like about the Interstate and DON'T like about any of the Class C's: windows everywhere! We "travel tour" and take in the sights as we roll down the road. All anyone has to do is look around from their seat because there's nearly a 360* view from everywhere (excepting the bit where the bathroom is). People don't have to get up from their seats and crowd around a window to see the <insert amazing view here>.

Looks like Airstream has become the best sales force Leisure Travel Vans could ever have dreamed of.

Starting at $216k seems like a lot, for a single person vehicle.
The specs state 985lbs payload, before ANYTHING, and if that came from the same scales they use to spec their trailer tongue weights, then they better be self driving.... The people are gonna have to ride in the TOAD vehicle, which won't live up to it's 5K tow rating, cause the GCWR is already too close for it.
For the money and known Airstream quality, Advanced RV would certainly seem more appealing for something of this size and style.

Think I would still prefer the LTV Unity twin bed after looking at many layouts.
For us, the murphy bed option wouldn't work as I go to bed quite early and get up early and my Mrs is the opposite, so we need a separate sitting tv area and sleeping area.
With the Airstream, I feel they might have done better to swap the galley and storage areas across the aisle so that the galley would be integral with that large counter area where the hidden tv is, thus giving more work area.
I'm generally not keen on the idea of slides with their extra potential for problems, but in small motorhomes I do feel I would like one to add to the limited space - unfortunately the
LTV Unity twin bed arrangement does not offer a slide whereas some of their other models do.

Slides add too much weight (sure to be a problem here) and too many problems down the road. For me, the extra width, without a slide, would be all I would want.
I would vote for a twin layout.

Didn't LTV stop using slides?
We attended an LTV rally when we were in research phase. No one had a Murphy bed layout and without exception they all thought it was great as an idea but very challenging in practice. They all knew people who had bought the Murphy layout and then traded. Can't sleep and sit and drink coffee at the same time. It'd be great for solo travel as someone above mentioned, though.
