AI Rallies

Are there any AI rallies, where owners came meet and exchange ideas and enjoy together . Does the factory have any AI owner rallies??

None that I know of. There are certainly enough of us to hold a rally, but we're pretty well spread out. So far the most Airstream Interstates I've seen at one place at one time was four, at the 2015 WBCCI International Rally at Farmington, NM, and we were parked in different areas.

I've seen three Interstates together at the 2016 WBCCI Midwinter IBT at Rayne, LA where we were all parked right next to each other, along with an Airstream B-190; and the 2015 Canopener Rally at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, where again we were parked in different areas. There was a fourth AI at Topsail at the time, but not part of the Canopener; they just happened to be there and I never got to meet them.

I once broached the subject of a WBCCI Airstream Interstate and B-van Intra-club— that I called the ABC (Airstream B-van Club) to give it an easy acronym— but the response was barely even lukewarm, not enough to put forth the effort required to go through the administrative process.

Our local dealer in Scottsdale, AZ organizes get-togethers perhaps once or twice a year. Picture of one in Sedona.

Advanced RV has a rally scheduled at the factory in May. I'm surprised Airstream doesn't do anything to get owners together, especially near the factory. I believe many owners would attend to learn more about the Interstate and just to socialize with current owners.. Maybe if we call Airstream, we can get Airstream interstate Club started...

Considering that Airstream, Inc. doesn't even sponsor WBCCI, the "official" Airstream Owners' Association, it's unlikely they would sponsor a club for such a small segment of their customer base.

I'm thinking that if it's to be done at all, it will need to be done independently.

Airstream might not want to do it due to the potential negative feedback.

A glass half full or half empty to my wife is simply a glass that needs more wine. Sorry Shark when I read your post I couldn't help writing the first thought in my mind.

Just saw that in an email yesterday from one of my demented friends.

I went to the Advanced RV fest last year. It was a great event for a reasonable price. But Advanced RV sells direct to customers and have no dealers. Advanced RV uses an entirely different business model than Airstream.

Airstream sells only to dealers and they do hold annual convention/event for all dealers to show off their new product lines. This event is also a place were dealers get together to socialize and give Airstream feedback.

I suspect that there is a different mindset for AI owners than AS people. We have a Unity because it's a convenient way to travel that doesn't necessarily involve camping. I have a 16 day trip coming up and 7 of those days involve motel stays. Too, I switched from a 25' AS to a M-B based motorhome as I was tired of hitching and unhitching a trailer. There is a Leisure Travel Van factory gathering once a year for owners.
