2023 I19 Inflatable Mattress Options

Looking for a topper that can be easily stored when not in use. Prefer not to have a big piece of memory foam to store.

We tried a ThermARest NeoAir Camper Duo, which is a thin but comfortable double-wide air mattress. It allowed us to quickly deflate and roll the whole bed up like a big burrito when not in use. We generally left it on the upright couch and sat on it if we needed to hang out there. It was comfortable, but we eventually tired of the inflate/deflate cycle in our larger AI GL EXT, even though we also brought an electric pump to make that go more quickly. If we were in a 19' van we'd probably still be using this because of the savings on space when not in use. Sadly, it doesn't look like ThermARest makes that mattress anymore, but There are probably some good analogs out there that would do the job. Here's a link to the one place on their website I found that refers to it: https://www.thermarest.com/blog/double-sleeping-pad/

Thanks. Space is definitely a factor.

Here's another idea. There's a British company called Duvalay, which Class B owners also use for bedding. I fear that the 1" pad in these would be wildly insufficient in our 2016 unit, whose lounge becomes a legit torture device if one tries to sleep on it without enough padding, but it's a great space saver if your newer lounge is more comfortable for sleeping. Our key issue is the manual flop-out / flop-in jump seats, where parts of the flop framework are at the same height as the cushion, creating places that actually cause bruises overnight unless properly padded with a topper.

British site: https://www.duvalay.co.uk/caravans
This looks like a US-based reseller (they also sell via Amazon, should you be so inclined): https://www.discobedshop.com/collect...-sleeping-bags

Interesting. I can only imagine there are some other options out there that stow away nicely.

We have the Duvalay bedding for our 24GT. We like how easy it is to set up and roll up the bedding as it incorporates the sheets, blanket and mattress topper all in one. We have two sets as we usually do not slide together the ottomans. They fit nicely in our storage above the lounge with a ton of room to spare.

Where can I get one of their toppers that will pretty much fit the I19 bed and roll up? Looks like the width is about have the bunk width.

The Duvalay marketed under Disc-O-Bed in the US is more of an individual sleeping bag w a integrated 1” topper. We also have an RV Superbag and they can be ordered in various sizes that will fit your van. They are both good options for those of us who do not like to make the bed with sheets and covers each night but with the Superbag you will need an additional topper. Checkout Mattressinsider.com for custom toppers. The challenge with all of these is they take up space.

We just got a king Superbag. Will try that out with no topper for now just to save space unless someone has a better idea.

Exped DeepSleep Mat 7.5 Duo in LW+ size

We looked around at a lot of choices for our I19 and chose the Exped DEEPSLEEP MAT 7.5 DUO, in the Long Extra Wide (LW+) size. It's the perfect length and will fit nicely between the guides for the rear screen. It's inflatable (don't forget to order the Widget pump). It rolls up to a big sleeping bag size after deflating. It takes some work to deflate it but we've found it's worth it.

We ordered ours from REI but it was also available on Amazon.

The Exped mats look like a good idea. Superbags are also cool. If you find you need padding after trying the Superbag, you can always add comfort later - either something like an Exped or a slim air mattress that inflates / deflates easily.

Exactly what we are thinking! The 2023 seats are pretty comfortable. Hopefully, will only need the Superbag.
