2022 Interstate 19 Ottoman attachment
Wondering if anyone else has/had this problem.
2022 Interstate 19 both ottoman seat attachments have come loose from the sidewall. The steel bar is only attached with 4 3/8" sheet mental screws. All of them have come loose. Temp fix was to put a wire in the hole and secure the screw. Is there a better way to secure it so it won't come loose again. Larger diameter screw or a rivet nut?
Sorry I don't have a picture.

I’m sorry but only pics will help here as Airstream likes to change things up year to year.

Haven't had the problem on my 2024 Interstate 19 since I removed those 40 lb. steel ottoman power sliders. I replaced them with 2x4 wood cross braces so the load on the side wall brackets is now very low. Don't need the power ottoman sliders as we use the bed as a U-shaped twin. Attached photo from someone on Facebook who just added more fasteners.

Thanks for the picture.
I would have included pictures but the van is in temp storage in san Diego. For now, I'll live with the temp fix until I get it back to GA in late Spring. When I have access to better tools.

I don't think thread locker would help on sheet metal screws.

oops, missed the sheet metal in front of the screw. You are right, that won't work. I have an Interstate 19 but haven't had that problem (not yet?). Maybe rivnut is the best solution, it looks that the metal is thick enough to support it. I have used rivnuts on the roof panels.

Agree - rivnuts or plusnuts would be a good solution if needed.

Had the same problem with the drivers side ottoman on our very first cross-country trip. We were not very happy, too say the least!
Took it back to Colonial and they reattached/reinforced the connection. So good so far 2 years later but we really don’t use the ottomans anymore and just treat the sleeping area as 2 twin beds.
