2021 Interstate GT - First Two Headaches

Four days of ownership and now two issues.

1) When I attempted to start the van today, well, it wouldn't start. The key was in my pocket (where it always is) and when I pressed the start button...nothing. After a few attempts (short press, long press, etc.), I took the remote, and pressed the door lock/unlock buttons a couple of times and it started.

2) When it did start, I had a warning error/light. It seems my awning wasn't retracted...but it was. So, I extended the awning a foot or so and retracted it and the error went away.

However, 20 minutes later, while on the highway, I hit a small bump and the warning light and alarm went off. Guess what? Same awning issue. By pressing the right turn signal, I could use the camera to see that the awning was still in place. Being close to home, instead of pulling on the shoulder of I-4 in Orlando to stop the engine to try to extend/retract, I waited until I arrived to check it out.

The awning looked fine. I extended a foot or so and retracted and the alarm/light went away.

I have no idea if this is a bad sensor or if the awning needs some work. I'm not what anyone would call a mechanic and am wondering if there's some easy things I can try before taking it to the dealership. As stated, this Interstate is four days old.

Sounds like an adjustment to the awning-closed-sensing switch, is in order. There's a switch that tells the van whether the awning is in. That switch may not be properly aligned.

Thank You! It's nice to see the factory monitoring these threads.

I spoke to A/S Customer Service earlier today, sent video and am awaiting a response. It appears it has to do with the tab losing contact with the button.
