2020 GT keyed switch next to battery disconnect

Anyone know what the keyed switch next to the rotary type battery disconnect switch is used for in the 2020 Grand Tour? It has two positions ON / OFF. It takes a key to use. There is no mention of this in the owner’s manual.

Oddly, the parts book for the 2020 does not show an opening for a switch of any kind in that location. Also, I can not find any keyed switch in the parts listings in the parts manual.

It is too difficult to dig through the electrical schematics. However, from long experience with 5 Airstreams, I know that the schematics are not accurate, with the exception of what they might be using on the factory floor.

I think this one deserves a call to the factory. Please post whatever you find. My curiosity is killing me.

Response from Airstream

This keyed switch is the power disconnect for the Connected router if you had your dealer install one. You would need to manually disconnect power if you want that turned off.

We were told that this is the on/off switch for the tank heaters.

Coffee Break is right. On newer Interstates, it’s an on/off switch for the optional Airstream router. You can see it on page 9-17 off the 2021 Interstate manual, (the first electrical schematic) shown roughly in the middle of the page and listed as, “Coach-Network Key”. I was curious where the wires terminated and had a hunch it was the unused 5.5 mm power cable tip located in the upper cabinet above the bed, next to the coiled, unused airstream antenna wires. If you open the cabinet door and reach around to the right where you can’t see, you’ll feel a bunch of wires hanging on a hook. This, I guess, is where they would install the router since 6 mini-coax cables end there. I didn’t receive a key for the switch in question but I pulled the panel and put a jumper on it. Sure enough, there is now 12 volts coming out of the power tip in the cabinet. The good news is, I now have another source of 12V in the overhead!

More evidence the key is not for a tank heater: hidden behind the hinged cover, it says "WIFI". Did any of you receive the actual key for this when you bought yours? I didn't but was able to find the lock number and order a new set online.

Two different keyed switches. The keyed switch in the top cabinet panel next to main touchscreen control behind the driver seat is for the lithium battery heaters. The keyed switch below the driver side rear jump seat is for the optional connected LTE router.
