2018 AI EXT Lounge - house battery location?

Hello!

Just wondering what those of you with a 2018 AI EXT Lounge put your batteries when you updated to 4 or more AGM's or where you put the lithium batteries if you updated to those.

Currently, our two house batteries are sitting under the coach on battery brackets. I don't think there's room for another two, but I could be mistaken. Plus, if there was room, that's a lot of weight, if adding more AGM's.

Thinking of the option to upgrade to lithium, but in our climate, leaving those on the exterior is not ideal for charging, so that means bringing them inside (and losing valuable storage).

Just curious to know what others have done when adding additional batteries or upgrading to lithium.

TIA!

The second battery pair is mounted on the passenger side, across from the first battery pair.

Our 400Ah of lithium batteries will be stored in the rear garage near / under the lounge. The battery cage beneath the unit will most likely be empty, and might be removed...unless we decide it would be fun to toss a couple of 100AH BattleBorn-type lithium batteries in there and add them to the circuit. Not likely because of the distance between there and the batteries in the garage, which would therefore require truly big fat juicy wires so they could all act as if they were all one battery, but something to ponder...

I just added 400 ah lithium batteries & a Victron Energy MultiPlus 3000va inverter/battery charger, both in rear compartment under back seat on my 2016 Airstream, 8-batteries were LifePO4 3.2 V 200 ah in a battery box, I added 4-100 watt solar panels with a Victron Smart Solar MPPT 100/50amp solar controller.

Airstream Temecula Ca did the work, less than a week, worked out awesome.

anyone experience with these battery boxes?

https://diyvan.com/collections/batte...vs30-sprinters

they mount in the front like 2021+ models

Airstream moved the batteries to the front since the upgrade to lithiums, but there are only 2 of them. maybe using these boxes we can put 4 of them in the front?

the magnum inverter/charger is now mounted under the cabin passenger seat, it seems there maybe enough room for a 3000w, but not sure.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I could easily be missing something, but cooling is my primary concern regarding a 3000w inverter/charger under the jump seat with little apparent air circulation. We would love to put something useful under that jump seat if we can't put the electronics in there anymore, so we will have to explore our options when we upgrade next month. Regarding that under-mount battery case as an additional battery storage location, that is certainly worth considering if you can find a place to put it under there. Our currently-planned approach is to put a pair of 200Ah lithium batteries in the rear garage, so we'll see what happens.

Here is a link to another forum post by Chris Blank. He installed the 3K inverter in the jump seat location. Lots of mods to get that to happen.

Hey, that sounds like an awesome upgrade. Seriously though 8 LifePO4 200AH batteries? Sounds like way more than 400 ah total, unless I'm confused or there's a typo.
