2016 AI GT stock head unit replacement

Tired of the 5 minute boot up and terrible outdated GPS of the stock Kenwood head unit. Looking to have Apple Car play, better Radio and larger display. Can anyone recommend an upgrade? Has any one done their own install considering easy swap out or have a shop they can recommend in the Puget Sound area? Any information would be very helpful.

There are several threads on the topic, but in summary the two most frequently mentioned replacements are the Alpine Halo and Pioneer, both with "floating" nine or eleven inch screens. We got a Pioneer unit, new speakers, an amp and a subwoofer, and we're happy with the results in our 2016 AI Lounge.

No worries, that's why I popped in with a quick answer. Also, searching these forums can be tricky.

Here are a few potentially interesting threads. Bear in mind that Replacing the stock Fusion or Kenwood radio heads, depending on Airstream model year, would be the same project because both Airstream-installed radios fit into the same hole in the dash.

Thank you for the information - especially for the phantom radio power draw - will definitely install the kill switch. I am finding out that the cost for a lot of upper end head units are going up in price (including installs and accessories) due to supply issues - will talk to Crutchfield and a local installer tomorrow to see where things stand.
