Help.............my ceiling is falling down.........what can I do?

Oh yeah... the delightful vinyl over foam... with disintegrating foam. Lovely stuff. I had it in both my '94 tri-axle 34' trailer AND my '94 B-Van. What to do? Well... in my trailer. I ended up finding a spot that wasn't too noticable, made a 2" slit, just wide enough for a vacuum cleaner crevice tool to fit in and sucked as much of the old foam out as I could. Then I got some 3M spray adhesive and a 4" soft paint roller. I sprayed the adhesive in the hole and used the paint roller to roll the vinyl back up in contact with whatever backing was left after vacuuming the loose stuff out.

I have NO idea how permanent that fix is, but it lasted for the two years we had the trailer after that.
