I have owned both. I traded in the 24 for the 19. To get even more storage space in the 19 than the 24 I put on a luggage carrier on the hitch, it extends 2' so the length is 21' and still easy to park etc.
In our experience, it fits into sports width wise, but not length wise (22'). We tend to park in lots where we can pull through. Sometimes we can take free street parking, but metered parking costs us 2 meters worth. Driving is easy, however. You just need to remember not to take turns to sharp.
I’ve own all 3 the 24, 22 and 19 and love the 19, as it’s easy to drive and park. The newer digital dashboard is a step up with a smother transmission. The others were very nice but more truck like to drive. Harder to find parking. There is no spare tire in new 19 the generator took that spot. Room in 19 is tight for gear but it’s not meant to be lived in for multiple weeks at a time.
I wish the power blinds were an option so I could delete them. Takes time to boot up computer to just raise blinds. Also they took away the full time rear camera. It only works in reverse. You can see a little thru the coach of rear but was nice to have camera confirmation. If you plan to be out for long long outings get the 22 it was a little better to park. Or jump to Atlas and get a toad.
I cant find the spare tire or the jack on the 19ft. interstae...help....
I seem to recall another owner stating no spare is provided for the Nineteen. Something of a trend in the shorter Sprinter models from various manufactures.
Aside from the reduced storage, keeping mind the 19 compromises a few other things, namely: smaller fresh water (21 vs 27 gallons), grey water (16 vs 21 gallons) and black water (9 vs. 13 gallons) tanks; smaller lpg tank (9.3 vs 14.6); half the battery capacity (2 vs. 4 AGMs) and less solar (250 vs. 300 watts). To me this is an important consideration if you are going to ever camp somewhere without full hook ups.
