I believe that giving them to a shelter is a win for the cat, the breeder, and new owner. The breeder is assured that the cat will be neutered. That takes care of their breeding concerns. Kittens, at least around here rarely spend more than few days in a shelter before they go to a new home. Kimba had an unusual experience. When I went down to see him, (he was on their website), I found out he had been returned the day before, after having been adopted for three days. The people returned him because he ran around the house and attacked their feet when they walked. I'm guessing they'd never had a cat before. Our adult cats do that occasionally. He was a pretty active kitten, but nothing that surprised me.

Naw, he's too smart for a direct confrontation Ken. Instead, he waits 'til I'm asleep and then sticks his butt right in my face as payback.

My old buddy Spook that I had for 18 years was a ring tailed terror in adolesence until he finally matured into the best friend I've ever had.

Hey, where's my favorite spot?

I guess we didn't leave for Florida soon enough. This snow is now deeper than I am tall, but I'm still looking for my spot.

OK I'll just sit here and stare at you until you figure out what I want!!!!!!

Dusty is always standing or laying down; It is on rare occasions that he sits.

For those of you with Android phones, there's an app named Pic-Say that makes it easy to add captions to photos you've taken with your phone. My cat hates it because of all the things it's claimed he said in his pictures. It's a pretty fun app.

Thanks for the idea, Crusty! That app isn't available for iPhones but I found one called BeFunky Photos for free :-)

Daisy will probably be more talkative now :-)

We call that "the look".

Lily gives it to us, then when we look her direction her tail thumps a few times and her ears perk up.

You know you have guessed right when a query is responded to with vigorous tail thumping and excited bouncing.

What sweet babies.

Mr Person? Come on, I'm sure she knows your name. Is she just trying to be discreet?
Our cats recognize Susan, Ken and each others names. If I say, "Where's Susan"?, they will turn their heads and look at her. (its the same for my name). Unless of course, they don't want to. They are cats, after all.

Well, she's adopted and I think she referred to me as Mr. Person and Sue as Lady Person early on and it stuck :-)

Yes - I've gone nuts :-)
