The comedy Channel is showing this great movie on 8AM Saturday morning.

It stars Tom Hanks (Turner) and Beasley the Dogue de Bordeaux (Hooch). This movie is the reason we have our second Dogue de Bordeaux pack mate.

Dog lovers will enjoy this movie. Kids love it.

Now there's a dawg that am a dog. Big, jowley, slobbery dawg. How did such a manly breed ever get such a sisified name anyway? Brings back memories of my first dog, and best friend, Duke when I was 7 years old. Never had an uglier smellier canine, or more loved. I was ready to fight anyone called Duke ugly.

Several times we have had people tell us that our Dogue is the ugliest dog they have ever seen. This is always spoken with an ear to ear grin making it clear no harm is intended.

As to the name of the breed. It is a French breed. "Dogue" is French for mastiff. So the name means 'Mastiff from Bordeaux'. Bordeaux is, as I'm sure you know, a region in France.
