DHart:

Terrific pictures.

I am always amazed how every pooch ..... no matter what the breed .... no matter what the mix of breeds .... no matter the age ..... no matter the history (pleasant or unpleasant) .... every pooch has EXACTLY that same gaze of unconditional love and acceptance that endears it to each member of its human family for a lifetime.

You have captured that gaze in many of your pictures.

Thanks,

Jay

Jay... thanks for your comments. You're right, dogs have that incredible spirit and devotion that makes them the most wonderful creatures known to man. We are so blessed to have these amazing animals in our lives. There is nothing else in the world like a dog. They are the best! And I have been so spoiled and cared for by this wonderful pup... I feel so blessed.

Flying Gypsies... thank you! I feel that I am the lucky fellow to have been cared for by this wonderful dog for 11 years. I sense our time together is waning and give him all the extra love and attention that I can these days.

After we got our Airstream Monty only got to camp with us three times before he died, but he enjoyed us all sleeping in the big rolling crate with him.

Rascal had a play date today with Gracie. Gracie's mom and dad brought her over for some fun and exercise. After running around getting to know each other Rascal insisted on showing Gracie his Airstream.

Yes it was hot and yes they do have big tongues.

I have to say 2 Great Danes do fill up an Airstream pretty quick. It happened so quick we couldn't get a picture but they followed each other to the back and with both of them in the bathroom there was no way they could get turned around. It was quite the sight to see two Great Danes side by side backing up through the bedroom and galley to find enough room to get turned round.

Chloe

In January, I lost my 13-year old traveling cat, Zoe, to liver cancer. Zoe loved to travel, attended every happy hour, and would face up to any and all dogs. She walked on a leash like a champ.

I wanted a cat with the same features. I researched breeds and settled on a Pixie-Bob female kitten; the first cat I have ever paid money for.

Pixie-Bobs are rumored to have some Lynx blood from the mating of barn cats with the west coast Lynx. They certainly have the size, the bob tail, and the markings. Chloe's tail is about 2 1/2 inches.

At 6 months, she is 7.6# and growing. The mother is 17# and the sire 25#. I expect Chloe to be over 15# when grown. Pixie-Bobs are slow to fully grow and take as much as 3 years to fully mature.

Chloe gets daily leash sessions. I caught this shot of her on my printer at 25 weeks and the portrait was taken at 26 weeks on her tree. She is pretty big for 6 months and very intellegent!

I thought I would post one last picture of our Fiona. She was a spirited, lovable little girl. We know that little tail of hers is wagging a mile a minute somewhere in the next life.

That would certainly be HIS preference!

He'll get out of his bed under the dinette during the night, hop up into our bed, and stand and watch us for a few moments, then jump down and get back in his bed. I think he's wondering if, this time, we'll come to our senses and give him the bed AND the trailer. If one thinks some people have an over-inflated sense of entitlement, one hasn't lived with a poodle. No comparison! (Disclaimer: Standard poodles not included in that generalization.)
