pets on hollyday

We take our pets on hollyday.
Is it stresfull for them to be riped out of there used to home.
Or is it just as relaxing as it should be for us.
In our case it seems to be relaxing.

Our dogs always enjoy going out with us on trips. I can't hardly keep them out of the trailer at home. Even if they have to go to the kennel a few times while we're out, they really don't mind.
The cat, not so much. He died after the last long trip we did with him. He was just too old and too set in his ways.
So I'll say dogs yes; cats no.

Our girls love camping. They know when we start packing and are like kids, ready to go.

our birds go with us everywhere; however, we were concerned about the african grey, who we only adopted about a yr ago. shes sorta 'set in her ways'. after discussing w/ our avian vet, we will bring her on our month long road trip in sept - he said that while travel may be stressful, being 'away from her flock' is even more stressful.

so shes coming too! yep, that's 4. in the truck, one is on hubbys shoulder, on on a mini perch between us, and the other 2 sit on the top ledge / edge of the bench seat at shoulder height.

It depends on the pet. Some travel well, some don't. Snowball (our cat) is usually fine. I've heard of other cats that just can't stand being in cars. Dogs are probably usually better because they travel in cars more often than just to the vet.

Obviously it's best to start with a young one and get them used to it early. That said, I got lucky with Snowball - he curls up on the upper bunk and is generally fine; even when we got into an accident a couple weeks ago he just stayed curled up, up there.

Our two labs love the Bambi! They go nuts when we bring her home and start packing.
