Brandy the bird dog gets a little reward after a good day in the field. Of course she has a very discerning palate and prefers an amber ale especially if it's "Fat Tire" from New Belgium in Fort Collins...

Athena & the Raven

This raven came and sat on our hood in Yellowstone and then came right up to the windshield. Athena was fascinated. I have probably 30 pictures I took of Athena and the raven interacting. This is right after they touched nose to beak.

Looks like Athena was enjoying a little grooming from that raven. What a great shot. Thanks Susan...

Our 14 year old cat Henry disappeared three weeks ago this coming Tuesday. It is feared that the 14 year old cat is dead, not just dead tired in the picture below.

14 years with Henry, thats pretty good. We've had a few cats that shared many years with us, and with the exception of one, they all left when it was time.....wish I could do the same...

Streamteam, is your German Shorthair best friends with the widdow bunny or is the bunny soon to be dinner?? We too have a GSP, Moose, soon to be two years old. He's the keeper of the birds on our small property, and has discouraged all geese and ducks from our pond. He hasn't run down yet, but I keep praying for the day he turns 2 years old. I'm told that is the time they begin to settle down. Actually, I've seem him maturing this winter, both physically and in temperament. He's good company and helps to keep our aging Weimaraner moving. Great dogs. Thanks for the photos! ~G

It would have been, only I watched the stand off with Brandy on point for quite a while and knew it wasn't a bird. The rabbit was put into the wood pile and Brandy moved on to look for somthing else. Brandy is 6 yr's and seems to be setteling down a little. Still need to let her run for at least an Hr. before we hunt birds, then she,;s ready to stay close and

Cats first outing.

Well, you all have convinced us to try to take our cats along on a camping trip. we have taken our dog Buckeye on every trip and he loves it. We decided to take our two Siamese cats (Squeeker and Princess) 14 yr old brother and sister to the Outer Banks during spring break. They traveled over (four hours) howling and hissing in the carrier next to the dog until Linda took them out and let them loose in the cab. Once they could get in Linda's lap they did great. They really enjoy the camper. They have the back with their litterbox in the shower and the dog has the front.
I guess we will take them all to California in May.
Here is a picture of Squeeker (front) and Princess on one of the twin beds in the back.

Pet Photo Contest?

I finally was able to unpack Precious' traveling bed -- she was puting on quite a show until she heard the auto-focus motor on the camera. The pricture below does a good job of conveying her distaste for cameras! Precious will be traveling with me this summer, but her brother will likely be staying with my father as he recently lost his Chihuahua, Lencie Wren. I will probably be getting this type of look rather often this summer as she has the same distate for my convertible!

This would be our Bucky, aka the BigAssDog. He's Border Collie and Australian Shepherd, and I *swear* he's smarter than I am..... he's my fierce protector, that's his job. And, he takes it *quite* seriously....lol....

Here's his headshot....

I have two-going-on-three cats, though as yet none of them have been to my still-being-restored Airstream. Loki is an adventurous ginger tabby, still a kitten, who comes to work with me every day in the car; Victoria is a chunky black & white cat who one day hopes to grow up to become a throw cushion; and Elizabeth, who's a little tiny cat inside a giant ball of fluff - she lives outside and is semi-feral, but I feed her & take her to the vet and she sleeps inside on cold nights.

This is our Blue & Gold Macaw on his first camping trip. Keep him stocked with chew toys, and he's a happy camper.
