Pet Fence/pen...???

So we have two small dogs (~12lbs each), and they are very used to running free around the house, and around our backyard. Now that we have an airstream and are visiting parks with leash requirements they just aren't taking to it well. I saw online where a couple used one of those vintage circular expanding wooden pens for their dogs, however I have really struggled to find one that isn't horribly expensive, or in really bad shape. We have tried the tieout but the dogs also haven't been a fan of that. I have to believe there are other options out there that we haven't thought of, so I would like to hear how others manage their dogs if you are not using a leash/tieout...
Or if you know a great place I can find one of those expanding wooden fences, that information would also be appreciated. I have attached a picture of the fence I am talking about.

Thanks in advance!

Josh

I have 4 of these that fold flat and can make as large or small of an area as needed. I went 24" so we could easily step over it.

We did see something like that, is it cumbersome since you are moving around 24"x24" stack of 32 of these panels?

Hi

The big gotcha with the pen is the way most parks word their regulations: "Dog must be on leash, other methods of of control are not allowed as the primary control" (or something close to that). You don't have to spend more than about 10 seconds in any park out there to find out that people break the rules If you go with the pen, be ready for a ranger to stop by. Have a leash ready. Be polite, don't argue.

Actually 8 sections of 24" x 24", folds out quite quickly, grab the next set as needed. We've been all through Ca, Az, nm, TX, nv, fl. Never had a word said.

We use a similar pen, however only when we are outside with the animals. We never leave them unattended, is against the rules at every park we've stayed at.

We have several members in our unit that use these type of pens with success.

They have even come up with a system where they start the enclosure from the door of the Airstream and circle around making a type of porch area so the humans and pets are together inside the enclosure.

It always looks very cozy.
