Goodbye friend

It wasn't a good week last week when we had to put our Golden Retriever Harlow down. She had cancer on her spleen and in her lungs. Something seemed wrong for a while but the Vet and us were thinking it was old age catching up with her.
Harlow would be what I would call the last of our four legged original equipment with the Airstream when we got it seven years ago. I have attached a picture of Harlow with our Yellow Lab Molly (who we lost a couple of years ago). Also a picture of Harlow taken last Fall showing the young one (Scout) the ropes.

The Silver Dog house just won't be the same.

Harlow

Sad times that I know all too well. While one never replaces the other, the little guy looks like he can pick up the slack and hep get you through this. Cherish the memories............... Woody

Goodbye friend

He will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Understand that she no doubt loved you at least as much as you loved her. That's the way dogs are.

We lost one of ours about a month ago. Probably 20 years old, a rescue old lady chihuahua mix. Left a hole. The other 5 pups still miss her. Family not doing any better.

The pain fades with time, but the joyful memories will stay with you forever. Hug the little one😀

So sorry for your loss. Love that she taught the pup the ropes. I hope happy memories help with the loss.

I am sorry to learn of your loss of Harlow. What wonderful memories you must have traveling with her in the Airstream. She was a blessed dog to have you in her life and all the adventures she got to have. Rest in peace sweet dog.

We always planned to travel after I retired, but Lupe is the main reason we're doing it by Airstream. Which is a long way of saying I think I know how you feel, and offer my profound sympathies.

I know this routine very well. Over the years I have had four Goldens. When you lose one it takes a long time to get over it.
My first one had diabetes and then cancer, a couple of months before she left us we got a new pup(pre-cancer) hoping to liven her up. that was back in 1998.

Last December we got our most recent family member "Tucker".

Now he looks like this.

I love the Golden retriever breed !

They are certainly friends and I don't think I could get through the day without my boy Si. Sometimes they are the only ones that get it.

As you will know from my thread on Moose, we feel your loss and send our love and condolences.

Time will heal, but you will never forget her.

I love this comment and it is so perfect.

FYI this is an old thread, and earlier posters may not see the new comments.

Condolences for the loss of any pet -- never easy . . .
