Great pictures!
Labs are great dogs. Here are two picture I got from the friend I got Gracie (yellow lab) from. Her mother is a yellow lab and father is a black lab. The puppies were 5 yellow and 4 black. Sorry about the quality of the pictures, it is all I have.

It's nature's way to NOT let the male near the new puppies. Females are dominate in the canine world and seem to be well aware that the male may decide the new puppies are dinner. Males often kill and eat young puppies. I'm sure Cody is a really nice dog; however, nature takes over at times. Congratulations on your new family member. He's sooooo cute.

That is a huge litter of squirmy pups! It's great you get to know Thor's mom and dad, there's no better way to go!

Yeah. That's exactly what happened when I was born, but mom told dad to just order a pizza.

Congrats on the arrivals.

It's a fear of competition thing.
