Dogs first vacation
One of the reasons we bought the airstream was to bring the dogs to our property and have something for them to stay in. One dog does not have many years left and the other is getting up there also. This was our dogs first vacation. They wined and barked the first 475 miles to the property, but were very quiet coming home. They loved their first vacation they went nuts with the smells of wildlife.
I put our airstream in the back yard and closed the gate. I went to the house to let the dogs out and they ran to the airstream climbed in looked at me with excitement. They were ready to go again.

Oh, too cute! Glad they had fun! So when are you taking them back out in the airstream?

Awwwww, that is awesome! It looks like some great doggy land out there!
Miss Nilla enjoyed her first trip in our moho, but I was camped on a parking lot in an urban area, so it was a little different for her.

Every dog needs an Airstream of their own!
(Imagine a picture of Luke and Molly sitting in the doorway of our Safari - I can't attach it now due to "the server is not responding").

Wayne and Sam:
I have had that problem before. I log off airstream go to my security program and shut it down. Then it allows me to post pictures after I log back into airstream forums.

Is it possible that dogs love Airstreaming as much as us humans? I know our hound does.
I can never get Bailey to keep his beret on .

When we've got the A/S parked in the driveway, waiting for the next trip, my Aussie (who's always following me anyway) gets visibly excited when I unlock the door to get a few items. He jumps in, goes inside and settles down immediately, as if to say "What's the hold up? Let's just go!!".
They know that Airstream = adventure. Just like we do...

K9 Airstreamers
Brian, enjoy your Aussies when camping as long as you can. Maggie, my sweet 14 year old Golden Collie, Airstreamed her last time with me just three weeks before she passed away.
Isn't funny how they kinow when you're getting ready to hitch and tow.
"Are we ready? Let's go! I know you're going to take us, aren't you? Aren't you? Aren't you???? YES!!!! Quick! Get in the truck before she changes her mind!!"
Like I would . . .

I have a chocolate lab that is 11 months old. I have been working with her and training her. I can't wait to take her on the next A/S trip. My plan is for her to be a constant participant in all future trips. We also have a 4 year old basset hound who will also be along for the rides. I'm sure the sofa will be theirs each night.
The Roman Army came home to the roar of the crowds, we come home to our dogs. I'll take the dogs.

My dogs get sad and pout during the week because they do not get the walks like on the weekends. When we go to do something to fix up the airstream the dogs follow us into the airstream jump on the coach and have the biggest smiles on their face. They have the look of lets do it again. Lets go camping.
Having a place for the dogs when we go to the retirement property is one of the main reasons we got the airstream.

Oops, Brian, I just noticed your's aren't Aussies. Sorry I called them by the wrong breed. Both beautiful and happy, uh . . . Spaniels ? Will you bring them to the "End of Summer Thang?"

Uh-huh. Let us know how that works out for you. Somewhere I've seen the schedule of dogs in the home, and it starts out with the dog not allowed on any furniture, and ends with the dog driving the car if it wants...

My dogs always know when we are getting ready for a trip. The Airstream comes home from storage and they go on high alert. Once I hitch up they can't wait.
Don't forget to stop often and let the dogs take a break and make sure they have water when you stop.

The minute we begin getting ready for a trip, the Girls' anticipation begins to build...in and out we go loading up the AS...with each trip we make they are more and more sure we are heading out...and the final signal is when the harnesses (their "bustiers") come out...Annie (who can't bark) can't wait to get into it and jumps around and wags her bottom, and Sadie can no longer contain herself...she starts barking excitedly...I'm sure that's the signal to our neighbors that we'll be pulling out the driveway in a few minutes! They just love to go...and we can't imagine going camping without them.

Dog House
Our Cilla has her own special spot in the window. Before we go I like to hide her Chewies and Rubber Cheeseburger in there. She has great fun and really calms down when she gets to go. She is a "Special Needs" beagle runt with a separation dissorder. She knows we can't get too far away from her when we are camping.

My AS has been devalued by quite a few dollars, dirty walls, smells like dog, doggy vomit on the bed, a few poops picked off the floor.
My life has been made so much richer, there is not a value that you can put on being happy.
We're full timing, in search of Desert Cottontails, elk, ox-tail happy land treats, nice views of the earth from cliffs, and 5AM Romper Room bed wrestling. They'll even spend the day in bed with me when I'm having a sick day.
I wish I were a dog and somebody like me took me on adventures, fed me ox-tails, shined my coat, brushed me daily, and laughed when I sniffed their butt.

You have my admiration.
