Blue Heeler Apartments in Airstream

We travel mostly back country gravel roads in the Western USA. It can be July and the dog's water bowl is frozen at sunrise at some high elevation campsites. So we bring the two pet porters into the trailer and stack them to conserve space.

These are made to stack, so it is stable and the older Heeler, Dingo, always sleeps on the 2nd floor apartment and the younger Heeler, Blue, always goes into the floor level...

During the day we have them side by side outside. They do not mind spending the evenings out doors, but we need to put their doors onto the pet porter to keep them from chasing sounds in the dark. The solution was the stacking of pet porters.

When traveling, the porters are kept in the trailer, but side to side. The back seats of the Tundra will fit a smaller porter while traveling, so if you have smaller dogs, use the smaller porters than can be moved back and forth. We have two sets of porters, one set fit back to back in the back seat, and the larger ones for the campsite. It is not necessary, but the wife wanted these pups to enjoy the trip as much as we do. She won and the Heelers cannot wait to move into their apartment for the night!
