I tow with a Chey 2500, long bed, crew cab. It is very long, which is great on the highway but not so much for tight turns. The solution is a front hitch, often called a spotting hitch. They cost a few hundred dollars to have them professionally installed and they make near zero turns possible and they are great for precision parking needs like a narrow stall or tricky camp site.
I have to use it every time I come home, but in a summer of camping, I might use it just once or twice in campgrounds.
They are handy for several things like mounting a winch, a bike rack, or a cargo basket. I have had one on every vacation vehicle I have owned since the 80s.
