Tundra 2016 Towing Mirrors

I see quite a few Tundra TVs here. What do you like for clip on mirrors?

I've found this and it looks pretty good (JR Products 2912 Grand Aero Towing Mirror)

Toyota tow mirrors do work nice.
Install in 30 minutes or so each.

I use the ones you show on my Tundra. I've had others.....those are great. Clamp well and are study. All clip on mirrors have some vibration on occasion.

I use OEM replacement flip-up towing mirrors from 1AAuto.com

Theese replace the OEM mirror with a set on a longer arm, then the mirror head rotates vertical to increase the field of view even more. Have a look at what they offer. I bought a set and really like them.

Get the OE style aftermarket extending/telescoping towing mirrors off Amazon for $149 per pair.
The OE mirrors from Toyota are $235 each.
The OE lights fit the aftermarket mirrors. I have the lights on both sides- one because a vehicle crossed the center line and struck the light breaking it and the other because some of the LED segments went out. For some reason the driver's side/left side was $14, but the passenger/right side was $16 for the lights. Go figure. Maybe they sell more driver's side/right side lights?
The same mirrors fit from model year 2007-2018.

My friend uses those and loves them.
I got the CIPA slide on mirrors, but have never used them.
(I should)
I found I can see quite well with the standard mirrors.

I know you specifically asked about clip on but... After doing some research and using clip on mirrors on my previous TV, I purchased the Toyota OEM tow mirrors for my new Tundra SR5. There were a lot of stories about aftermarket mirrors shaking on the highway or distorted images. OEM are $475 on Amazon right now. I installed both in 30 minutes, they work great and I gained mirror turn signals. I know they are pricey but I have been very happy with them.

When I got my 2010 tundra limited I measured the width from mirror to mirror and it was actually wider than my previous TV (toyota 4rnr) with extension clip on mirrors installed. Like Mollysdad Ive not bothered using my clip ons. My tundra has the electric folding and I'm curious if I change to the aftermarket mirrors if that would still work?? Its nice to have in Parking lots etc when not towing.

The tow mirrors will not fold electrically, only manually.
That is one reason I choose the Limited vs. the Platinum and 1794 Edition- that and $10,000 difference in price...
So I don't have cooled seats, moonroof, electric tilt and telescoping wheel, memory positions for seat and pedals, electric folding mirrors...

The JR Products 2912 Grand Aero Towing Mirror are the same one as the Dometic DM-2912 Milenco Grand Aero3 Towing Mirror. Except the price is MUCH better on the Dometic.

Works great on my LX570

Nothing to like about clip-on mirrors. (They're like clip-on bow ties -- they're for kids.) I use a Toyota Tacoma to tow my 15' Airlight, so I bought some aftermarket mirrors that replace the factory mirrors. Here's just one type for your Tacoma.

I have the same mirrors on my 2010 Tundra. Very sturdy easy to put on and take off. I have tried many different mirrors before I bought these. I like them alot.

OEM Aftermarket. Several different ones on line. I got the original looking with power adjust, heated and manual fold and convex...they also have the led turn and marjer lughts. Less than 200$. Very satisfied. Mine is an 07 Tundra SR5 TRD. Easy install.

mirrors

Buy the OEM mirrors. Have Toyota mount them. Covered by Toyota warranty. Work better than great. Match truck. turn indicator on mirror, heater defroster works, remote adjust works, magnifying bottom mirror incorporated. no vibration. last forever - and I mean forever. Mine were originally purchased and mounted on my 2014 Tundra. They now live on my 2017 Tundra. work just as well! Buy 'em forget 'em.

I tried 3 different styles of "clip on" mirrors on our 2016 Tundra. Each set was under $80 and they worked okay. But, I didn't like the way they looked and I was periodically adjusting them from vibration movement. I know it's vanity, but I bought the Airstream because of the cool look and its sturdy design, so I ordered power towing mirrors thru Toyota and had them installed.

Have never regretted it.

$235 each from Toyota or $175 for the pair from Amazon? Hmm...

I have a 2013 Tundra and bought the OEM slide out mirrors from a Toyota dealer on Ebay for half of what my dealer wanted for them then paid a body shop $60 to install them since I knew I would screw up taking the trim off to get to the bolts.

I have always felt the OEM mirrors don't extend as far as I would like with our 28' trailer so I also use the clamp on ones you show in addition to those. With the OEM's you also have to train yourself to look at the bottom convex mirror as you have huge blind spots on the side of the truck if you only look at the top mirror.

I found the clip on mirrors block my view down side streets when mounted on top of the side mirrors but don't when mounted on the bottom. I also recommend checking the mirror clamps at each stop. I had one mirror dangling from one clamp when it vibrated loose. I use mine in addition to the factory mirrors so I would have preferred that they had flat mirrors not convex. Objects in the mirror get small quickly.
