Trouble towing my trailer

Coming back from the shuttle discovery launch I experienced my 28" Excella fishtailing at 65mph. The cross wind was gusty and probably hitting 35 mph some of the time. Tires were brand new (less than 5000 miles) and properly inflated and the tow hitch was hocked up as usual and double checked after 50 miles of towing. This fishtale experience happened 3 times and came without any warning and on good interstate 10 highway,
Anyone have some reason for this?

What exact tow vehicle do you have?

Exactly what hitch do you you have, and it's rating?

Do you have a sway control?

The answers to those questions, will provide the answer to your issue with the wind.

Might have to do with how your TV and camper were loaded out. You might measure your front wheel well height, hook up and measure again. If the numbers aren't the same you have a problem.
I have been surprised in the past how changes in my load out have changed the settings for my WD hitch.

Generally speaking Airstreams tow very well.

In the last ten years we have towed our 23 with a mini van and now a mid sized car and never had the trailer sway once. Towing around the Great Lakes here it is always windy so we are pleased with the towability of the Airstream.

Suspect you really do have something not right with your set up. Could you post some pics of your rig?

You may have had an incorrect hitch height. Or your trailer could have been heavy in the back. Or both. These symptoms will show up at higher towing speeds. If your tongue weight is lighter that 10% of your trailer GVW it will give you poor results in the higher speeds.
Anti Sway systems will help but will not cure incorrect trailer setup.
