We also have a 2019 pilot and a 22 foot sport. Most of our trips have been less than 400 miles/day. I have not seen an issue with transmission overheating. I have installed a VCM disabler this prevents most TC issues and keeps all six cylinders running. I also use an OBD trans. temperature gauge. Some things to check is if the trans. cooler was installed correctly, it is very easy to use an incorrect hose location. I also change the ATF every year. Secondly check to see the radiator fans are operating properly

Our Porsche Cayenne is an outstanding TV up to 23 ft.
I pull our GT 23 with ease. I previously pulled our 16 ft Caravelle and hardly new it was there. The Base Cayenne apparently is the best for towing.

Hi Vic

We have hundreds of customers who have towed for years with Pilots and the other Honda's with the same 3.5 drivetrain. Almost all are towing much more than a 16'. Overheating has not been an issue with them.

I would say you have a partially plugged radiator or a cooling fan is not working properly. If you change the radiator there is a slightly larger one from the Ridgeline that should drop into the same location but confirm that with a radiator shop. Finding a good mechanic to diagnose this is not always easy but they are out there.
