Torklift rear receiver hitch

Has anyone installed this hitch? I was wondering how easy it was to install and how it was holding up. I know most people do not recommend putting on this type of hitch on a airstream trailer.

Torklift rear receiver hitch

Just installed this rear hitch. It was easy to install, the hardest part is drilling the 4 9/16” holes. The directions are very detailed and the hardware is heavy duty. It is rock solid and just what I wanted for my hitch type bike rack.[ATTACH]393952Click image for larger version

Torklift rear receiver hitch

Neat.

Watch out dragging the rear end. Those new tabs for that received cross member look to be heavy duty and reinforced. IE you could bend / crack / damage the frame on a rear end impact.

Might consider 3” dexter lift if you don’t already have one.

Will keep that in mind. Thanks.

I have it and had it installed by Torklift 4 years ago. Works great, no problems and with bikes mounted I still have access to my bumper and rear storage compartments. Just got the 3" lift this year. I recommend both the hitch and getting the lift.

Weight limit?

I installed the Torklift rear receiver hitch without any issues. It fits nicely on the bumper.

I have a few intended uses for it; one is to use for a carrier for a small motorcycle. The bike is 350 lbs (which is below the weight limit of the hitch assembly), but I'm worried about the frame and the tongue weight loading. Has anyone carried a motorcycle or near the weight limit on their airstream? I think I might be able to front load things stored in the trailer to help offset the additional rear weight, but I definitely don't want to bend the frame.

This is on a 2020 Caravel 19CB.

Thanks!

Any updates? Did the trailer preform any different? More sway? What bike? Any pictures with loaded bike? Travel Safe

11/05/21. Currently working to install the Torklift 8001 receiver myself. Removed four self tapping metal screws for the bumper and drilled out 10-12 pop rivets for the wet-storage shelf. cutting wheel and grinding the welds for removal of the factory skids plates.

I did not remove the factory skid plates or the bumper/storage compartment. Probably looks more tidy without the skid plates.

Unfortunately, nothing to report. I still haven’t hauled anything on the Torklift receiver yet. I was hoping to get a confirmation of success or failure from another owner before trying it with load.

I also did not have to grind, cut, or remove anything to install. The fit was perfect.

The 30fc has the 2x5 tube frame and the factory skids were welded rite in the middle. Could not get a good flat space to attach the new bolt on ends Taking the bumper and the pan just gave me more room to work and see what I was doing.

No thanks... I want nothing adding weight to the back end.
I don't believe it's a good idea for the semi-monocoque frame design.
Another TETO decision.

Is that the travel trailer model of the Hollywood platform rack or the one E trailer specially says is for use on anything but a travel trailer.

I’m fairly confident that it won’t be the Torklift receiver that gets damaged from this application.
