We picked up our new 2022 Globetrotter 27FB a week ago in NJ and we’re on our way back home to CA.
We have a Ford F-250 with an Equalizer anti sway hitch.
I managed to bend the locking pin that locks the ball into the receiver while unhitching the trailer. The hitch ball is stuck half up into the trailer receiver. I managed to hammer out the locking pin out until it was flush with the exit hole but it’s stuck. Next I removed the locking pin from the hitch shank to the truck hitch receiver in order to remove it, but the shank will not come out.
Your suggestions are appreciated. Help.
If I understand this the ball is stuck in the socket of the trailer and you can not get the stinger out of the receiver. Try using a jack to take the load off the tongue which should reduce to load on the tow hitch and let it slide out of the truck hitch. Once free put the jack under the assemble and try and push the ball back up into the socket of the hitch. Try and move the release on top of the ball forward and then lift to release the flange inside the socket. Look in your manual around D-3 has information about the hitch. Airstream ball hitch is a 2 step system. To open push handle forward and the lift and close push back to align hole. If there is any type of load the hitch will not release. Hope this helps. Sounds like you will need an new ball socket hardware kit.
The DEMCO EZ Latch coupler can be repaired if the internal components are damaged. Looks like the 6109 repair kit is for a 10,000 Lb coupler. You can also contact DEMCO direct for assistance, ask for Josh. https://www.demco-products.com/trail...nents/couplers The video shows a cast head but same for stamped version.
