Stablizer hitch on Excella?

Hi all. We just bought a '98 Excella and it has some kind of a hitch attachment mechanism on the tongue but no other parts came with the trailer. Can someone please help us get the correct parts so we can get this hooked up properly???

How about some pictures?

Do you have a hitch head for the TV or just a bumper ball?

That is a Reese Dual Cam system. If you are considering using that system you might just as well buy a complete new system. Cheaper than fitting out around just the old hangers.

Not sure why I missed the picture the first time

All I see is a chain lift?

You need a draw bar and a complete hitch setup. The Reese Dual Cam is what I use and you can see a complete system at Campers World. Another quality hitch system is the Blue Ox. You can look them up on the internet. I would probably go with the Blue Ox if I was starting over. I think it is simpler to install and set up. Good company.

At first glance of the picture I thought it was a Monty Python reference to the French!

In your photo, that is a snap up bracket from an old trunion style Quality S Hitch, and it is broken (a piece is missing). I have a complete hitch like that, which I still use occasionally. It is 40+ years old.

Quality S does not sell WD hitches or parts for them any longer, but they still sell after market hitch receivers.

Like others have said, you are going to have to find some other WD system.

Hitch

Do yourself a favor and scrap what you have. You will need to buy a new weight distribution hitch. It will have all you need for your setup. This part on your trailer is likely an Easy Lift or Reese hitch. They are both good hitches, however you will get more sway control with an Equalizer Hitch. Don't go with the Anderson, it will not give you ample weight distribution. I've used them all over the years and my fav for sway control and weight distribution is the Equalizer Hitch. Just my simple $0.02.
