Hard to say, this was on an incline on a surface that wasn’t level. But yeah for a long time the back of my truck squatted a bit.

Throughout the trip up to Alaska I was experimenting with hitch settings but decided to leave it this way because everything was driving really well and I was coming up on the Alaskan Highway and didn’t want to be experimenting while on that. I hit truck scales every time I changed something and all the weighs (even ones where visually things were not ideal) were all totally OK. So at some point I decided the amount of front end raise was mostly an aesthetic concern. I made it there and back and after the first few adjustments, really enjoyed the driving experience.

Post-Alaska, on the way back from Seattle, I started experimenting again, but variables had changed (no longer traveling with the kids, less stuff in both the AS and truck, etc). I’ve raised the front of the Airstream a bit and am reasonably pleased with the result but am still trying to find WD settings that result in a ride comparable to the one we had for most of the journey.

I remember you were experimenting when you first got your rig last year...I am still running "stock" with the BO hitch...I did move up a link recently on our way back to Austin, so I am showing 3.5 links now instead of 4.5 and it seems a better overall ride now. Heading to Jackson next week then to NC Balloon Fest and on to Alumalina...should be good few weeks to monitor the ride!

He just needed a ratchet strap from the front of the camper to the bumper.

Here is a 2012 C Class that really does tow. It's only the 350 though. Available for test drives if you would like to try it sometime.

Two really cool tow vehicles, I had forgotten that Suburban's were once 2 doors.

Update on our trip...the F250 now has 75K miles and the AS has 34K miles...this trip was 4800miles- Austin to from Jackson to Balloon fest, to Alumalina, to St. Augustine, to Port Charlotte, back to Henderson Beach, FL, and home to Austin...3.5 links showing worked out fine this trip. Several instances on 10 where the drivers swerving around us while we were going 65; they were sometimes going 90+! The freeways were a mess in Lousiana due to bad maintenance and construction...hwy10 especially bad between Lafayette and Baton Rouge! We both aged a bit on the trip back to Texas...hate using freeways!
