Very unusual and interesting. Whatever works for you is what is important. It speaks well for the VR6, the VW transmission and your driving ability still having the original brakes.

Yes, I am very very VERY conservative when I am towing with this set up. I work out of my home/studio but the van is a daily driver, but hardly. If you can believe, I've only got 78000 miles on this since buying new in 2001. It goes out mainly for camping trips. Obviously oil and filter changes are done by time, not mileage. Someday we'd like to move up to a 25' from our 19'. but ~80k is just ridiculous. It seems like it would pay to just replace every appliance that WILL break over time. I think the fridge is 1st.
