Shelby F-250 Super Baja

I tow with a Porsche Cayenne and I'm the farthest thing from a truck guy. But this new Shelby F-250 Super Baja might make me change my mind. That's a serious bro-dozer. Now if I can just get on the waiting list.

JMO....light vintage AS, No.
Not at all needed, unless it's 'big truck' thing.

I think the new Tremor package gets you most of the way there (except for the jumping arroyos part) at likely much less cost. The 150 models all have an 1800# payload rating, plus the off-road bits. No Shelby badges, but still beefy.

Shelby F-250 Super Baja

Like it, I have a 2019 FX4. Wish the Tremor was available then. Sort of creating my own.

Ram went after the Ford Raptor (with the TRX), looks like Ford is going after the Ram Power Wagon.

You're right about the Tremor package. But I want to jump those arroyos.

If you read Road and Track, tow with a Cayenne, it is safe to assume you are a performance person. Do whatever blows your skirt up big guy. In my book want always wins out over need.

Well that is a lot of truck unless you like to pretend ... I will stick with my F-150 ecoboost with BFGoodrich all-terrain TA KO2 lt275/65r20/e 126s 3750/3415, AirRaid Induction, Bilstein shock absorber and SumoSprings. Takes me and the AS anywhere I want to go...

So true. That truck really speaks to my reptilian brain. My wife has been wanting to camp on the beach in Baja. My challenge now is to convince her that a Shelby F-250 Super Baja is the right truck for the extreme baja environment before the waiting list closes. Going to be a tough sell.

That sounds like a great setup you have on your F-150. Do you think it can jump those arroyos (Airstream unhitched of course)?

Does it come with a standard stepladder to get in or do you have to supply your own?

Just as a point of reference - About 1 year ago I purchased a 2020 AS 25ft FC, and a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Diesel. My family traveled across the US- excellent vacation. I purchased the GMC 2500 Diesel to potentially pull my new boat. But it is WAY over-kill for my 25 ft flying cloud. But, I love it!

An F150 would more than do the job. Buy the truck you want - life is short! Good luck with your decision!

I'm sure Shelby will offer a genuine aftermarket stepladder with Shelby branding. Hopefully they will offer a carbon fiber version for high performance and weight savings But seriously, it looks like it has a built in drop down step but that might still be a reach for my short legs

Wow... $125k is pretty steep. I'd like to throw another idea.

You could buy a F250 Limited and put a fully optioned Carli Pintop system on it and come out ahead. With a better truck...

It would perform better in the dirt than that BDS lift. Coilover conversions on these new trucks are not the best way to go for travel, ride, handling, etc.

Edit: $125k PLUS the cost of a Lariat F250 on top of that... what are they smoking?

I read it as 125 all in.. still pricey but not a total gouge

I have an f-350 diesel and love it. Drives like there is no trailer behind.

Thanks for the tip. I'll research the Carli Pintop system. I'll take better performance over a Shelby badge.
