Rock Tamers for GM Duramaz

Looking for rock taming solutions on GM's Duramax trucks. Everything that I've seen so far has the exhaust blowing right onto the rubber.

I did see one photo of an application that had a cut-out for the exhaust, but given the distance from the exhaust to the rubber, I'm not sure it helped that much.

My guess is that the normal exhaust isn't as much an issue as is the regen exhaust.

Appreciate any suggestions or phots.

They make a heat shield for this. I fabricated my own years before this was available.

I installed the round exhaust outlets sold by Rocktamer. They are cut in the flap AFTER all adjustments are final. Have been on my Ram 1500 for 6 months with no issues.
Also installed the “Airstream” name plates instead of the Rocktamer ones.

I’ve got them on my GMC Duramax. Heat shield is the way to go. No problems at all with mine.
