Propride setup on Chevy 2500 Duramax for GT 28FB

I would like opinions on seeting up a PP with a Chevy 2500 Duramax pulling a 28 FB Globetrotter. I have the Chevy, ordered the PP, and awaiting the new GT (touched it on the line at Airstream yesterday). I am not really worried much about the weight distribution of the PP, more of the sway control. I am wondering how others with similar setup tune in the PP. I don't want it too stiff so that I worry about rivets popping. BTW, I think I just earned my first rivet.

From a sway prevention point of view, the ProPride does not need much setup. For the weight Distribution, first off, I'd ask Sean at ProPride what he recommends for weight distribution bars for your combination.

You may not need a lot of weight distribution, and the good news is that with whatever he recommends, you can finely adjust the bars to give a very good ride for the trailer and your Duramax.

I use a Toyota Tacoma crew cab to pull my 22 footer, and can very precisely adjust the WD to give a smooth ride and handle cross winds and rough pavement very well. Have never popped a rivet...

Congrats on your first rivet!

I have a 27FB Cloud, Chevy 2500 Duramax and ProPride. According to the scales, I lift about 500# off the steer axle of the truck when the trailer is connected - so in my experience, WD isn’t optional. There simply is no sway - many threads and other resources cover how that works. Here’s a LEGO model demonstration: https://youtu.be/v2otJAgYiTo

Good luck and happy camping!

Thanks. We are anxious to get out there. We have camped with a 5th wheel for the past 10+years. This is our retirement plan coming together.

We love our ProPride/Duramax combo. I'll bet you will too!

I have a Chevy 2500 and a 25 AS with a Propride hitch. Have had this combination for four years and it has worked out great - there has never been any sway. I am sure that you will enjoy your adventures on the road in your AS.
