ProPride & 30' FC Bunk

I was curious if anyone on the forums is running a Flying Cloud 30FB Bunk with the ProPride hitch, and if the weight distribution jacks interfere with opening the front storage compartment? I have seen threads where they interfere with some 27' models, but was wondering if the A frame area on the 30 was longer and allowed for clearance of the front storage door.

I understand they are releasing a v2 WD jack (for $500...) that is supposed to help this problem, but I am wondering if it is even an issue in the first place on the 30'. I also have researched the straptek system they offer but have seen issues on head alignment when using the straps.

I have a 30' bunk on order with expected delivery in a few weeks (been a long wait for me). I would like to run the ProPride and just trying to anticipate if I will run into issues with front storage door and standard WD jacks.

Thanks!

For 2 years, I pulled a 2019 FC30Bunk with a ProPride hitch. Even with the jacks installed as far frontward as possible, I could only open the front locker about half-way. While we made it work (a pool noodle was useful to keep the door from directly impacting the jacks), the jacks greatly limited the utility of that storage space. The 30Bunk is really challenged for outside storage space, so this was a big bummer for us.

The problem still exists for my 2021 Classic 33 Twin, but I think the locker door might be smaller so I can actually open it a bit further.

I ordered the new jacks the moment Sean Woodruff posted them on the ProPride users Facebook page, with the hope this would allow better front locker access. My hope has been (mostly?) confirmed with the video evidence ProPride has shared, using new jacks on an Airstream in their shop. I'm more of a Reaganesque kind of guy ("Trust, but verify") so I'm not counting any chicks until I get my jacks delivered and installed. I'll confirm or refute the rumors then.

Not sure if this help...I literally just posted it this morning. I have a 2021 30 bunk and the a Hensley hitch. It does not impact the spring bar jacks.

I went to the video showing the v2 jacks for ProPride but I don't see how these improve accessibility to the front compartment. The jacks still appear to be in the path of the storage door. Could someone explain the difference between the old and new?

I believe in the original jacks the "tower" of the jack sat directly on top of the frame, and on the v2 jacks it is offset so that it sits to the outside of the frame. A small difference of an inch or two, but from the video it appears it is enough to fully open the door.

I have the same question re: my FC25' FBT. Does anyone know whether the new V2 jacks for PP hitch will allow full opening of the front storage door?

Afternoon all
I have 25 flying cloud with beds in front. With pro-pride I had problems with the storage locker and tower jacks. Really does kinda stink. Especially with a sore old back.
May I suggest looking on Sean’s pro pride shopping wish list and checking out the lippert strap set up for adjusting WD bars. Absolutely no interference with door, they sit level with frame, and
with short learning curve I have found them to be easy to use and accurate. Had them for about 4 yrs now. Straps are still good but I can see replacing them down the rd sometime. Had straps similar on my flatbed...lasted longer Than I had the flatbed. Check them out!

Not looking to devalue the ProPride, it looks like an amazing hitch. The only reason I purchased the Hensley was the sales rep. I had already been in contact with ProPride, then I called Hensley with a couple questions and Terry got me. It was one of those calls where you hang up and think “what just happened”. The “limited inventory” and “$300 in extras” hooked me... I was obviously ready to buy...though had not yet decided on which hitch. I thought I was still in research mode. I have no regrets, the Hensley & (assume ProPride) is “Amazing”...so much better than a WDH. But, after reading your discussions, I’m starting to think...Thanks Terry! What does the ProPride’s Jack setup look like? I have a photo of my Hensley setup below.

So I reached out to Propride and confirmed that currently all new orders are shipping with the V2 jacks, which confirms what the pictures in the online store show. Brent said that one of the specific things they designed the jacks for was allowing full front storage door opening in Airstreams models with that door. It will be a few weeks but once I get them installed will report back.

Concur, I use the straps on my 2018 33 and they work well after my learning curve.

Just wanted to close the loop on my post here. I picked up the Airstream Friday and installed the Propride this morning. The v2 jacks do allow the front storage compartment to open fully on our FC 30FB. In fact it has an inch or two to spare, and the jack sits directly above the connection to the weight distribution bar (in other words I didn’t need the 1 1/2 inches of play the manual allows, the connection down to the WD bar is straight up and down).

ProPride V2 Jacks

Still wondering if the new V2 jacks allow the front storage door on a 25FB Twin to fully open. I've seen confirmation that they do that on a 27' and 30' AS but can't find answer for a 25FBT. Anyone got the answer?

While I don't have the exact answer you're looking for, I can provide some directional detail. I confirm that the V2 jacks allow full access of the front locker door on a Classic 33 Twin. Now that I have installed them, I see how they create the additional clearance for the storage door.

So there's confirmation for 27, 30 & 33. I'm 100% positive it will work for your 25.
