New Power Jack Recommendation

Hello! First (of many I'm sure) post.

I just picked up a 1971 25' Airstream and jumping headfirst into a full renovation. After a very scary event getting it parked (the jack stand is inoperable), I have to tackle replacing the power jack ASAP.

I thought this as good a place as any to get some recommendations on power jacks. Is there a favorite brand or unit that anyone can suggest? I really appreciate the help!

Thanks!
-A new Airstreamer as of yesterday!

I replaced our old Barker jack with the Husky Super Brute model 82022. My reasons for picking it are (in no particular order): Higher load capacity will hopefully mean less stress on the components and a longer life; ball screw drive system; the remote (seemed like a gimmick but has actually been a nice addition); better lighting; and the color of the Super Brute looks awesome with the Airstream.

I just purchased the same Husky jack. I’ll pick it up Tuesday and install. It came highly recommended (both here and on the internets in general). I have read of a few issues; many seem to be a result of not having a good ground, but have read about a few duds out of the box. That is a 5000 lb jack which may be overkill for you, but they also have a 4000 lb version. Price is nearly the same for each on Amazon.

What he said.

My Husky is 10+yrs old and does two things, raises the tongue and lowers the tongue.

Installed it today. Took about an hour and a half…most of which was going back to the toolbox for a different tool.

I hitched up to my truck rather than use jack stands.

Looks good, works like it should. Really quiet compared to the stock one.

Love that "quiet" comment. I sometimes hitch up the evening before leaving camp, knowing that my stock banshee jack can wake up a whole county in the early morning hours.
