New 2018 26 RBQ

Hi, guys! Glad to officially join the forum. Picked up our brand new Airstream 9 days ago and towed it about 85 miles home. Have to say it towed like a dream compared to our prior "sob" Have a shakedown trip planned for middle of February with a combination of boondocking and rv park. So far just familiarizing myself with the whole thing while plugged into our 30 amp at home and adding a few personal touches. So far an awning arm was difficult to open so airstream replacing it under warranty. Was found difficult during PDI so will take back to replace. The wife and I are previous RV'ers and know there are always a few bugs to work out in the beginning but not overly concerned. Anyone else have any similar issues or anything suggested we should look out for? Thanks in advance!

Congrats on your new Airstream!

If you’ve been reading this forum, you know it’s a fantastic resource. Virtually every and any issue has been experienced by someone else, and they’re happy to offer guidance here, mainly without snark.

As an experienced RVer, you know the value of a robust tool kit and accessible repair supplies. That said, we found ourselves in need of quick emergency repairs for two separate water leaks for our new 2019 27 FC FBT that appeared after a day of heavy rain. Both leaks involved poor caulking applied around exterior window frames. So, my recommendation is to have a tube of Sikaflex or clear silicone handy for your first real world “soak test.”

Welcome! We picked up our 26RBQ in October, and are anxious to spend more time in it. Tired of the rain here in the PNW, but we’re getting out this weekend anyway! Love the floor plan and features, although still haven’t figured out the stereo/tv!
