Need a tow company ?
I would like to locate a tow company fully insured that could tow or preferably haul on a flat bed, a nice 03 AS.
I forgot to add........cheap and a pretty long distance..........
Anyone know who could do this in case I need them ?
Thanks,
Robbie R.

Cheap and pretty long distance???? Wouldn't good and very professional be a better request. I can make a suggestion, but they are good and very professional, so cheap does not factor in.

When making a move like this CHEAP is mostly out of the question, given the price of fuel and insurance required to make such a move.
I really don't think you want CHEAP ,cause you will get just what you pay for. There are lots of insured HOTSHOT or Companys that have drop decks that can do the job. I hesitate to suggest any because then if it don't work out you would blame me.
There are company's out there ya just have to keep lookin. U just might be able to get one of the moving company's to do it, they have Tye-downs in their trailers and It might make a nice Back-haul for someone. They haul antique cars in those trailers why not an Airstream.?
Why not rent a pickup with a tow package and go get it yourself. It would be an adventure.

Thanks everyone, cheap I guess is wishful thinking and I do agree with everything you said.
Please tell me someone you think could do a pull for me if things work out. I would rather get quality and insured experts and pay for them if I can afford it if possible.
Thanks for any help.

Robbie,
I tow campers (and boats, horse trailers, cell towers, etc.) for Horizon Transport Inc. . We are fully licensed, insured, yada, yada. Most of our drivers simply tow with a pick up like I do but there are a few drivers that have a flatbed/dovetail truck with ramps specifically for hauling campers up to about 26'. I encourage you to call and ask for Randy who is the haul & tow dispatcher who can get you a quote. Please make sure to tell him you want the camper "hauled" not "towed". If your AS is longer than 26' call and ask Randy who he knows that could haul it for you or get a quote for Horizon towing the AS. Would greatly appreciate you mentioning my name.
Godspeed,
Trent

Wade Transport.....priced right and quality service...
Wade Transport...east coast
Wade Transport can handle your needs....
Wade Transport......here in Florida....I trust them.... i just used this tranport company to move a 1989 30 foot from New Jersey to Orlando
Wade Transport....770-519-7070 .....(Rocky and Jodi Wade)
a large 3500 series dually, exceptional service and communications from start to end....phone calls....emails....pictures before and after....they greased bearings...greased axels...went to the tire store and put new tires on....all this extra and no increase in cost....NJ to FL 1060 miles cost 975.00...total...plus tires of course....this couple currently has over 70 feedbacks from satisfied customers....all positive....this may save you money and add a piece of mind to your moves...read their feedbacks...they move trailers all the time....several airstreams in feedbacks as well...
(i have no connections with this couple....only that i am extremly happy with the service they provided to me in moving my airstream over 1000 miles...and i hope that they may be able to help others out as they have me....)
i found this couple on USHIP.com....this sites finds haulers for everything from dogs to yachts...currently several airstreams moves are listed...
here is someone else from your side of the pond that used Wade Transport as well
++++++++++++++++
Rocky Wade Highly recommended for AS transport !

You were right !
Rocky was avalible, reasonable priced and flexible !
The ship it should be on was overbooked, the AS could only be in the port for 7 days before departure, and he arranged the transport 7 days before the new date, and was overall was very helpfull.
If I ever need something towed again, i will surely call him first.
I will post pictures when my new 1986 Excella arrives in Europe.
Thank you all for your advice !

Its odd that this would appear right about now when I am working on setting up a tow haul operation. I see that you are in Maryville and I am in Greeneville, maybe you can pm me and tell me pickup and destination. then I can give you a rate. I have plenty of experience in towing campers since I have been driving since 13 and pulling parents camper then my own since age 17, I have also retired from 22 in the trucking industry where I hauled oversize loads.
