I plan on installing a TST TPMS with the ability to air up without taking off the signal sending cap. I’ve found some German ones, and will buy those at $10 a piece instead of buying anything Chinese, but I would really prefer Made in USA.
Any ideas as to U.S. manufacturer for these?

Have never thought to ask for a specific brand / country of origin of valve stems……

I used Dill VS-902-W stems for my TPMS sensors.

Be advised the flo-thru stem sensors slow down fill time.
The sensors inside the wheel no so much.
I've found it no harder than removing a valve cap when airing up with the added benefit of easy battery replacement. TETO

Steel valve stems rust….only use brass…

Dill 902-W made for rims with recessed valve stems.....like ours.
Dill online doesn't seem interested in retail customers, but Discount Tire stocks them.

When I swapped my OE valve stems for the Dill stems, there was a visible mark on the wheel where the TPMS sensor had been rubbing on the wheel. I'm happy that I changed them. I picked them up from a local supplier and had them in hand for my appointment with my tire guy.

Just had these Dill valves installed this week in my AS 15" wheels. I went to 3 national tire dealers (Discount Tire was one of them) in the metro Detroit area in search of the Dill stems but all were not familiar with them. I called Dill and they sent me to Mohawk Rubber Sales. Called the company, they had them in stock and got them out to me same day, Like $2.80/ea + 6$ shipping. Very good customer service.
I took them and my wheel assemblies to my local GY tire store and had them install them, $20 for the 4 tires.

I too had the TPMS transmitter contact marks on my rims. Glad I went now with the solid metal Dill valves.

Interesting the OEM Alcoa wheels that came with our AS have steel...stainless.

Brass doesn't corrode?

I’m considering purchasing TPMS. I installed the Dill valve stems last ear. Is it necessary to have the tires balanced with TPMS sensor installed?

No. The sensors are only an ounce or so.

You may want to have each tire balanced after installing your TPMS sensors. I did when I installed mine and each tire required counter weights installed to rebalance the tires. I had them ensure they were balanced before they installed the metal valve stems and the sensors. My trailer was brand new at the time and the tires have worn very evenly.

If you have Centramatic wheel balancers, no need to balance.

DT lost two of my sensors, so I did not balance the wheels after installing the sensors. DT made it right though. Paid me cash for two sensors plus comped me a tire.

No need...??? I don't agree, but regardless.
Mount & balance is usually bundled at most jobbers, why not take advantage of it? Hard to improve on a Road Force balance.
The advantage of the Centramatics is that they balance the entire assembly drum/rotor and the tire and wheel.

Talked to my Discount Tire rep. and he said I needed to balance the tires after the switch to the Dill metal stems because the tires, most likely, will not go back on in the same position as before.
I’m going to take my TST Flow Throughs and mount them at the store after they remount the tires, but before they get balanced.

FWIW: same Dill stems will work on my Ford Excursion.

FWIW: same Dill stems will work on my Ford Excursion.

I installed the Dill stems myself. So I know the tire did not rotate on the rim. I only broke the bead in the area of the stem, just enough to slice the old rubber one and get my hand in with the new Dill.
BTW, a TST cap sensor weighs 15 grams, about 1/2 oz. The flow through sensor weighs 22 grams.

I can't imagine a tire shop pulling the tire off, but then I'm not there.

Discount Tire lost my first two TPMS sensors. So, no thanks on letting them lose more sensors.

If I do it again I’ll stand at the door of the shop while they install the sensors and balance the wheels, making sure the sensors go on before they balance the wheel. I could have had them balanced with sensors on the second two wheels because I arrived before they opened and stood there watching them do the work. Other advantage to early arrival is that the installers can get busy on your unmounted wheels while they wait for the cars to be moved into the bays. In and out in 20 minutes or less.

I guess the point is to hand them the sensors right before they start the work and keep an eye on them.

I was pleased that they used a torque wrench on the stems.
