Installing Husky Brute Jack

Just received a new jack and in reading the installation instructions wondered if those who have already done this wired the manual reset circuit breaker directly to the battery or wired with the existing wire to the old jack.

I wired my jack directly to the existing wire from the old jack. Reason I did it that way is that my old wiring was already protected by a resettable circuit breaker on my existing power converter. That breaker supplied by Husky was redundant.

Now if that line were protected by a fuse, then I most likely would have installed it to minimize the situation where if the fuse blew and I found I didn't have a spare.

So far I've had that jack for 3 seasons so far and never popped that 12 volt breaker.

I wired directly to the battery and got rid of the OEM 30amp fuse.
