I saw a vehicle on the road that made me think of these forums...
I was driving on I-70 recently in the mountains west of Denver and I saw a tow rig that made me think of these forums. The tow vehicle was a newer Chevrolet 1500 with a topper on the bed. The Airstream was a fairly large unit. I don't know exactly what it was, but it appeared to be a 27 or 28 foot trailer. The trailer had a hitch on the rear bumper and it was pulling a large ski boat on a trailer. The entire thing had to be close to 70' in length. It made me cringe just looking at it!
I hope everyone is doing well. We miss our Airstream and often talk about buying another one.

I'm impressed with the intention/ goal of towing all that!
Just imagining with a Chevy 1500.
Sounds Painful

Wow, Thanks! I didn't know I could do that. And I don't even have a golf cart.

Did you all notice in the video that his awning is coming apart?

I saw something similar on the the West side of the tunnel on I-70 several years ago. It was hard to tell the models of the truck, trailer, and the boat as they were completely balled up on the side of the road. Never heard of there were fatalities but there wasn't much left of the truck. At least it looked like a truck.

Dennis,
An interesting post as usual for you. We miss your frequent post. I'm glad Charlesin GA could add some color.
I hope you're enjoying your Ventana!

We loved the Ventana but we have already sold it. We had some great adventures in it, including a 3 month trip up to Alaska and a couple of trips camping trackside at COTA for the Formula 1 race. We had a second grandchild last year and this meant less opportunity to travel. I couldn’t stomach paying for storage, insurance, annual registration, etc. for a big rig like that if we weren’t going to use it regularly. I sold it for almost what I paid for it, so everything worked out.
As the grandkids get bigger, we may buy another RV. It will likely be another Airstream trailer, or we’ll consider an Interstate. We loved the luxury and space offered by the Ventana, but we miss the flexibility and ability to get into tight spaces and small campgrounds offered by the Airstream.
