Hitch from my AS dealer?

I new here. I sold my sailboat after sailing the great lakes and running out of new places to go, I'm just finishing up negotiations on a 2021 Flying Cloud 23FB and now focusing on a TV and hitch. I don't see any hitches on the websites of the few AS dealers I have contacted. It seems a bit odd that they don't sell them. I plan to bring up the subject next time I talk with the dealership.
It took me quite a while and likely some $$ to learn that trailers are sold with rather large discounts off the MSRP. I'm hoping to avoid another learning curve by asking your advise on purchasing a hitch.
I'm considering a Jeep Cherokee , Dodge Durango, or a Mercedes GLE 450. I would appreciate and comments on these TV. Thanks in Advance

Ha me too! I had a sport yacht (small cuddly speedboat) used in the Great Lakes now gone to a land yacht this April when it’s done being built. No matter what TV you decide on I’ve found from past experience you can’t beat a heavy diesel. F250 would be my dream rig. For the hitch I would go on line and find a good American made WD with sway control. I have a China made one and it is crap.

You'll be better off to buy your tow vehicle with the heaviest duty factory tow package you can get, which will include a receiver hitch.

At that point, all you need is the plug-in ball and load-leveling slash anti sway arrangement.

Your Airstream dealer will sell and install a hitch for you. Most likely, they have a "preferred" brand/model that they like to sell, which may or may not be the best solution for you. Do your homework and decide on the best hitch for your situation. Then ask the dealer to install your choice, as the service department won't care either way. You may, however, end up paying a lot more for them to do this.

When I purchased my new trailer last year, the dealer "threw in" a hitch and installation as part of the deal. I wanted to go in a different direction, so I had a ProPride hitch drop-shipped to the dealer and they had it installed and waiting for me when I showed up for delivery. I was given a credit on my sales order for the hitch that I didn't take.

The dealers all sell hitches as an impulse buy or use them in the negotiations so they don't try to compete with online sellers. The 23' does not need a lot of hitch unless you decide to use a tow vehicle close to its limit. Consider and EAZ Lift Elite with Sway support, Reese or Andersen. They are all good choices. There are others that are good also so if you have one you are considering, just ask. they have pluses and minuses. The best performing are the ProPride or Hensley. But they are pricey.

The vehicles you mentioned are all good choices for a 23'. The bigger the better for safety and convenience. Ideal is to have something with 25% or more excess towing capacity.
