There was a similar issue 10yrs ago.

Slowly braking to a stop the wheel speed sensor for the ABS would drop out causing the pedal to pulsate and brakes fade. At times to the point drifting through a stop sign or cross-walk. Much like the system thinking it was on ice...without the brakes engaging.
Makes for many an unnerving road test, AMHIK.🥴
