Gladiator and 23 Serenity
We have a small garage and need a tow vehicle that can pull a 23 Serenity (we haven't purchased anything yet). We have looked at the Chevy Colorado, Ford Ranger, and the 2020 Gladiator. All have towing capacity of over 7500. The Gladiator is rated at 7650, the highest of all the vehicles -- and it is the easiest to get into our garage.
The serenity has a gross weight of 6,000 lbs. We will be buying it used, and the previous owners towed it with a Touareg that had a towing capacity of 7,700 and had no issues.
When we were out west at an airstream dealership, they said to have at least an additional 1,000 lbs of towing capacity, especially going down mountains.
We originally looked at a 25ft FC, but couldn't find a tow vehicle that would fit in the garage.
Everything I read says you can never have too much towing capacity, but we can't get a bigger vehicle because I won't park my car (and the tow vehicle will be mine) outside.
We haven't looked at smaller airstreams, but that would be the next option. Reading the forums has been very helpful!
