I just purchased a 2015 F250 Petrol model (I don't drive far enough to work - 1.2 miles each way) and Diesels don't like short trips). I purchased the Extended service plan because not only did it pay for extending the warranty out, but also covers all required service maintenance. I looked at it like this: I am paying in advance for all the regular service. But wait, what's better - this plan covers everything on the truck. Your finance guy is right, however, the cost of maintenance on a diesel is very expensive. Call the Service department and ask how much for any repair - ask them to just pull one out of their head. I think you 'll be shocked at how much. But hey, this is my first Ford in 30 years as I have always driven Land Rovers, and I guess out of habit, I learned never to own a car out of warranty or without a maintenance agreement. My wife's Range Rover just had to have a transmission and without extended warranty the cost was $14,950.00 (FOR A TRANSMISSION!)
