Ford F150 Onboard Pro Power grounding fault

I just got a 2022 Ford F150 hybrid and I’m pulling a 2020 26 foot airstream international, unfortunately I’m getting a grounding fault when I try to used to 7.2watt battery in generator mode… I’ve seen that a few people have been getting this ground fault and was wondering if it’s at all possible it’s because the airstream is not truly grounded with a natural ground. It’s grounded to the frame, so truck to trailer, There’s no real ground.

Has anyone figured this problem out?

Sebastian

Not sure if this will work for your problem but I cut off the ground (round peg, not the neutral!) on the pigtail adapter connecting the 30-amp power cord to the trailer. No more ground fault message and shut down on our 2021 f-150 with 2700-watt power pro. I only use this pigtail when hooked to the truck. It isn't a problem when using the champion 2500-watt generator to hook to the trailer, 2022 25' FBT.

Is this the solution?
This is what’s required for built in surge protection with generator.

I have this issue with my ProPower truck also and it's on my list of things to fix.

I believe the inverter shuts off because it thinks there is leakage between ground and neutral. That kind of adaptor connects ground and neutral and it meant to solve a different problem.

I can see how cutting the ground pin would fix it but is that a good idea? Seems like somewhere ground and neutral should be bonded but I'm not an EE.
